Introducing our September Theme
This September Book Box Club turns four years old! We can’t quite believe that we’ve been sending our unashamedly bookish boxes around the world for four whole years.
To mark the occasion, we’ve planned an extra special box (and celebrations aplenty) featuring some of your most requested items, our favourite small businesses and an absolutely STUNNING magical read! Let’s reveal the theme, shall we?
Our theme for September 2020 will be…
In a land far, far away a highly intelligent princess was awaiting the arrival of her unashamedly bookish box! Join us this September, as we celebrate fabulous fairy tales with our ONCE UPON A STORY theme.
About the Book:
Our featured read for September is a marvellous mash up of legendary tales, woven together and told anew with plenty of fresh, unexpected twists!
This book has all the ingredients of a classic fairy tale and follows a brave young heroine on an epic quest through a strange and dangerous fantasy land. With her shapeshifting animal accomplice by her side, she must track down an evil dictator and save the future of language.
If you love the nostalgia of Narnia, the wackiness of Wonderland and the dark vibes of The Wizard of Oz – you will adore this novel.
The September book is a gorgeous naked hardback, with dazzling foil details and printed endpapers – it really looks the part of a treasured volume of old-school fairy tales. As ever, our featured read will arrive beautifully gift-wrapped and accompanied by a signed bookplate from the author.
There will be Goodies! Our September box will be stuffed with goodies inspired by all of your fairy tale favourites! Every item will be completely exclusive to Book Box Club and created by a brilliant small business or artist. Standby for a supplier reveal soon!
There will be an exclusive author book group: September members will be invited to join us for a virtual book group in our Clubhouse. You’ll get the chance to chat with the author of our featured read, ask your questions about this month’s book (or pretty much anything else) and make new bookish friends!
Or opt for Purely Books: If you love the idea of a brilliant new read and membership to an exclusive author book group, but bookish extras aren’t your thing, you can still join in the fun.

How to join us: September Once Upon a Story boxes and Purely Books memberships are available from our Subscriptions Page now. As ever, we only have a limited number of boxes available so get yours before they all disappear!
Existing Book Box Club members can relax, we’ve already got your ONCE UPON A STORY themed bookish parcel set aside and we’ll be sending it to you around September 15th, unless you tell us not to before renewal day on August 25th.
