Our JUST IMAGINE June box will include a Studio Ghibli inspired item, designed by the talented Kelsey Anne Art!
We discovered Kelsey’s illustrations on Instagram and were wowed by her gorgeously detailed and colourful typography. Kesley has created an exclusive, gorgeous art piece for our June box, which has a lovely inspirational vibe.

Join us this June and let us transport you to a world of bookish imagination! Our theme will be JUST IMAGINE and will whisk you away to some of fiction’s most captivating, creative and curious made-up worlds!
Our featured read for June is a beautifully-crafted, emotional tale about a vivid imaginary world and the dark reality of its troubled teen creators.
When her beloved brother goes missing, a young dreamer is convinced that he’s disappeared into the fantasy world they invented as children: a made-up land of secret laws, alternate identities and plenty of bloody drama. Can their special bond and the magic of their imagined world bring him back? How will she and her family cope when the truth behind his disappearance is revealed?
With wonderfully real characters, a haunting surreal world, themes of sexual identity and gritty issues that may upset some readers (click here for content warnings), this book is unlike any other that we’ve featured in a Book Box Club box before. Think one part Bridge to Terabithia, mixed with A Monster Calls and muddled together with an extra dose of darkness!
Our featured read is a stunning hardback, which will be accompanied by a signed bookplate from the author.
Book Box Club members will receive a curated selection of unique themed items created by brilliant small businesses and talented artists.
This month’s items will be inspired imaginary worlds from Studio Ghibli to Willy Wonka – we’ve got some seriously gorgeous items planned for you! Stay tuned for a supplier reveal soon!
June members will be invited to join us in our online Clubhouse for online book group with the author of our featured book. Here, you’ll get the chance to ask your questions about this month’s book (or pretty much anything else) directly to the author and make new unashamedly bookish friends!
If you love the idea of brilliant new reads and membership to an exclusive author book group, but bookish extras aren’t your thing, you can still join in the fun.
Check out our PURELY BOOKS subscription. Our books-only parcels include the same great featured read and membership to our awesome online book group, just without the extra themed accessories.
It is now possible to purchase our Purely Books parcels on a one-off basis. Head to Our Shop to find out more.
June JUST IMAGINE boxes and Purely Books memberships are available from our Subscriptions Page now. As ever, we only have a limited number of boxes available so get yours before they all disappear!
Existing Book Box Club members can relax, we’ve already got your June themed bookish parcel set aside and we’ll be sending it to you around June 15th, unless you tell us not to before renewal day on May 25th.
What do you think of our JUST IMAGINE theme? We would be so grateful if you’d help spread the word about it far and wide. You’ll find all the theme info over on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages. We love welcoming new members to our bookish gang!
A big thanks goes out to our resident artist Ali Jo Art for creating the gorgeous artwork to accompany this month’s theme reveal.
Thanks for reading everyone!
Love, Kate, Libby, Amber & Kirsty (aka Team Book Box Club!)
Here at Book Box Club, we’re proud to include a wide range of books in our boxes and to champion powerful stories and great writing from all genres, which always make for interesting book group discussions. We also know how important it is for our readers to be aware when a book deals with difficult topics, that some may find upsetting. Our featured read for June does include themes of rape, child abduction, violence and realistic depictions of grief and the therapeutic process. We feel that all issues are sensitively handled and that this book is suitable for our youngest readers (aged 14+). There are no graphic descriptions that parents should be worried about and we can reassure you that despite the darkness of this story we really enjoyed this book and we hope that you will too!
